in Santa Monica. Every summer, MySpace and a number of sponsors collaborate to present this amazing concert series. The concerts take place right on the Santa Monica Pier – a site that that has been a local and tourist attraction for many years. The concert series starts July 10th and runs through September 11th. And best of all? The concert series is completely FREE! If you’re staying in
hotels close to Santa Monica Pier
and love the beach and music, this is an event you won’t want to miss!
The Twilight Concert Series is summer fun at its finest. All the concerts run from 7-10pm, but it’s a good idea to show up early so you can secure a great spot. Make a day of it! Hang out at the beach all day, soak up the sun, and when evening rolls around, get ready for a completely free music experience. Since seats are not provided, feel free to bring your own blankets or chairs so you can enjoy the concert more comfortably. If you get hungry, don’t worry. There are a number of great food options all along the pier and if you are 21+ years old, then you can enjoy the Concert Garden. At the concert garden, enjoy drinks such as Barefoot Wines, Michelob Ultra, various cocktails, as well as non-alcoholic beverages.
Here’s the lineup: Kicking things off on July 10th in the Indie Pop genre is Cults with James Supercave. On July 17th, the up and coming Malaysian star Yuna with King will be performing. On July 24th, local talent Cayucas and PAPA will perform. On July 31st, enjoy the Syrian electro style of Omar Souleyman. August 7th is the day that Australian band Jagwar Ma will perform. On August 14th, hear from the Latin talent of La Santa Cecilia and Sergio Mendoza. On August 21st, The Zombies and Mystic Braves will be performing. On August 28th, get ready for some Reggae with Lee “Scratch” Perry and Mexico 68. The September 4th performer is TBA. And finally, closing things out on September 11th, is Charles Bradley along with King James & The Special Men.
